1. Introduction

PureCycle (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how PureCycle handles information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). PureCycle is designed as a privacy-first period tracking application, and we take this commitment seriously.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

PureCycle does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following to external servers:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Health and menstrual cycle data
• Location data
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Crash reports or diagnostic data

3. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

All data you enter in PureCycle is stored exclusively on your device using the following technologies:

• AsyncStorage: Cycle data, daily logs, mood entries, and app preferences are stored locally using React Native AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device.
• Expo SecureStore (Keychain/Keystore): Sensitive information such as your PIN code and API keys are stored using platform-native secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), which provides hardware-level encryption.

4. AI Companion (Mia) — Google Gemini

PureCycle includes an optional AI companion called “Mia,” powered by Google Gemini. When you interact with Mia:

• Your conversation messages are sent directly to the Google Gemini API for processing.
• This communication happens directly between your device and Google's servers — PureCycle does not act as an intermediary or store these conversations.
• You must provide your own Google Gemini API key to use this feature. Your API key is stored securely on your device using Expo SecureStore.
• Google's use of data sent to the Gemini API is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Notifications

PureCycle can send you local push notifications to remind you about upcoming periods. These notifications are:

• Scheduled entirely on your device
• Not processed by any external server
• Fully optional and can be disabled in Settings

6. Biometric Authentication

PureCycle supports Face ID, Touch ID, and PIN lock for app access. Biometric data is processed entirely by your device's operating system. PureCycle never accesses, stores, or transmits your biometric information.

7. Third-Party Services

PureCycle does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only external service used is:

• Google Gemini API (optional) — Only when you actively use the Mia AI companion feature with your own API key.

8. Children's Privacy

PureCycle is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since all data is stored locally on the user's device, we have no mechanism to identify or collect data from any user, including children.

9. Data Retention & Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Retention: Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep the app installed.
• Deletion: You can delete all app data at any time by clearing app data in your device settings or uninstalling the app. See our Data Deletion page for detailed instructions.

10. Security

We implement the following security measures to protect your data:

• Sensitive data (PIN, API keys) encrypted via platform Keychain / Keystore
• Optional biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)
• Optional PIN lock protection
• No network transmission of personal data

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
